This house features two parallel and rectangular concrete confines. Located on a mountainside densely wooded, the House Koshin is embedded in the ground, the house is placed carefully, not to disturb the environments nearby-The entire house is designed to boost awareness of nature-. The space between two concretes express the fundamental natures of the surrounding environments. This space reveals the courtyards courtyard that drapes over and contours to the natural topography. A wide set of stairs follows the sloping land into the enclosed exterior space and allows the light that penetrates through the canopy of trees into the sunken courtyard. This self-governing space represents the fold of nature that has been bound by the conditioned structures and become synthetic.

The building's gently curving curtain wall of different sized panes of colorless glass - each set in a unique angle sheaths, one of the most meticulously customized. The curtain wall of 100 11th captures daylight differently over the course of the day and the year, which creates variety of different appearance of the building. The surface that seems to brighten and go dark as if by computer program is, in fact, made dynamic by the movement of the Earth. These daily and seasonal changes foster a connection to nature. The dazzling window pattern frames splendid views from within the tower while producing an exterior texture that serves as a poetic analog for the vibrancy, density and changeability of New York City.
